PICS: Fruit Ninja's 5th anniversary birthday cake!

What’s fresh, fruity and downright YUMMY?

Our Fruit Ninja 5th anniversary birthday cake, that’s what! Yes, our celebrations may have recently ended, but it would be a crime to keep this marvelous creation to ourselves.

Made in the likeness of the Fruit Ninja Dojo, this masterpiece took hours of cautious crafting and fondant molding before it was carefully transported to Halfbrick Studios. Needless to say, it didn’t last very long once the birthday shenanigans began!

For those who are wondering – yes, the cake did taste as incredible as it looked. Lots of chocolate and sugar icing ensured that the white chocolate mud cake tasted like the fluffy, heavenly goodness it is!

We even managed to hold off the hordes of hungry Halfbrick employees just long enough to snap some pictures and speak with the cake’s creator, Charmaine Wood of Sweet Frostings Cake Design.

Hi Charmaine, we hear that this is your second time making a cake for Fruit Ninja’s birthday. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Five years ago, I discovered I had a natural talent for decorating cakes when I was making sweet treats for my family. I never even grew up wanting to be a cake decorator!

Can you also tell us more about how you were persuaded into making such a fantastic and detailed cake?

I was originally approached to film a "How to bake a Fruit Ninja cake” video by Halfbrick to celebrate their fifth anniversary. I automatically knew that I wanted to model the cake after the Fruit Ninja dojo! I felt that it was something iconic to the brand, and something that most home bakers would be able to replicate easily.

The detailing on the cake was very precise, and not to mention yummy. How much time did you spend on it?

The actual decorating of the cake took around 8 hours in total! This excluded the time for cleaning up and other baking processes!

Wow, that’s a lot of work! Thank you for taking the time to create such a memorable and delicious masterpiece for us. We won’t be forgetting this cake any time soon!

Charmaine Wood is an award-winning cake decorator who specialises in custom edible art that not only looks amazing but will also tantalise your tastebuds. To find out more, visit www.sweetfrostings.com.au.
